Civic Education Summit

On June 12, the state of civic education in Arizona was addressed at the Civic Education Summit. Attendees made recommendations for the 2009 Study of Civic Education in Arizona report [PDF 512kb].


CCEL Partner Provides Service to the Community

ASU’s University Service Learning program is now a part of the Center for Civic Education and Leadership. University Service Learning provides both paid internships and graded, credit-bearing internship courses. Much of the student’s service to the community focuses on improving K-12 education in the state of Arizona while providing leadership and learning opportunities for ASU students.

Our Courts Launches Civics Web Site

Our Courts recently released a new Web site highlighting civics resources for middle school teachers and students. The project, developed under the oversight of retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, offers engaging online activities focused on civics education. Read more...

Through partnerships with university, community, and civic organizations throughout the region and world, CCEL hopes to increase civic engagement through research and education.
